Floating Capability Survey

13th March 2023

The purpose of this study is to determine people's perceptions of floating capability in the water and the factors that may affect it, as well as how swimming teachers help people to understand their floating capability in the water.

The study also aims to identify perceptions of drowning risk in relation to floating capability, the importance of flotation as a self-rescue skill, and awareness of the current advice on flotation as a water safety and self-rescue skill.

The online survey takes approximately 20 mins to complete. This study includes two separate population groups: (1) anyone (i.e., adults and those aged 16 years and over), and (2) swimming teachers. Those who complete the survey will go into a draw for a $50 Amazon voucher (if they wish to).
