At Nestling, keeping children safe has always been at the heart of what we do. This summer, that mission took on even greater meaning. After the incredible response to our 2025 Neon Collection, we’re proud to announce a donation of $6,138 to Water Safety New Zealand, supporting their life‑saving Water Skills for Life programme.
This donation represents $1 from every Neon garment sold — a total of 6,138 bright, colourful and bold pieces purchased by families across New Zealand and Australia.
Why This Partnership Matters
Growing up in New Zealand means growing up around water — beaches, rivers, lakes and back‑yard pools are woven into our summers. But behind the fun lies a serious challenge: According to Water Safety New Zealand, five children under the age of five drown on average every year. It’s a heartbreaking statistic, and one that highlights how essential water competence and supervision are for every whānau.
That’s why our Founder and Director, Louise Tanguay, felt compelled to align the Neon range with a programme making a meaningful difference.
“Summer water play is a core part of growing up in New Zealand, but it’s also a time where extra vigilance is needed,” says Louise. “Designing swimwear that is bold and highly visible isn’t just about style — it’s about safety. By aligning our Neon collection with Water Skills for Life, we’ve been able to turn every garment sold into a tangible way to help children gain confidence and competence in the water.”
About Water Skills for Life
Water Safety New Zealand’s Water Skills for Life programme teaches tamariki practical water survival skills — from floating and breath control to safe entry and exit techniques.
As Esther Hone, Interventions Lead at Water Safety New Zealand, explains:
“Every child deserves the confidence and skills to stay safe in and around water. There is nothing as important as adult supervision, but pairing water education with visible swimwear is another layer of protection.”

The Story Behind the Neon by Nestling Collection
